"I paint with emotion harmony using color, shape, form, and rhythm. Painting with a bold use of texture and the interplay between positive and negative space creating a visual experience that feels like movement — artwork that uplifts and resonates on an emotional level."
Doris began painting during childhood using oils on canvas, creating landscapes, flowers, and animals that earned recognition and awards. In college she studied business, marketing, architecture, and commercial art then pursued a successful professional career in business marketing and sales while continuing to paint.
In 1995, while working at the pioneering internet company Broadcast.com, she found inspiration in the innovative technology environment and began exploring minimalist abstract painting in acrylic on canvas.
In the early 2000s, Doris worked with children through the Crossroads Interfaith Housing Program, supporting families affected by domestic violence. Teaching art to the children profoundly influenced her artistic vision. Believing that creativity builds confidence and self-esteem, she organized an exhibition featuring both the children's artwork and her own paintings. The exhibition was featured on ABC News in the segment "Artist and Pint-Size Picassos."
Today, after concluding her professional business career, she is dedicated full-time to expanding her abstract acrylic painting series while exploring working with paper, mixed media, colored pencil, digital drawing, and video art.
Throughout her career, she has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions, corporate collections, hotels, business lobbies, galleries, art fairs such as Art Expo New York, Art Santa Fe, Affordable Art Fair New York, Red Dot Miami and Context Art Miami while selling her work to collectors.
